1980s Colbalt blue silk dress with black polka dots

There is a lot of great elements interacting to make this an understated and flattering vintage dress. Colbalt blue fabric has tone on tone print in it. It is an animal print like dot pattern. On top of that, there are small black polka dots. The fabric of this vintage silk dress is whimsical and fun, the cut is ladylike and sophisticated. Together it creates a sophisticated, but not to serious look. Interesting neckline with slight V in the center. Gathers at collarbone. Defined waist has a fabric belt.  This 1980s dress would also look great with a black patent leather belt. A few pleats at top of skirt, create a straight shaped skirt that hits above the knee. Very small (2 inch) vent in back. Shoulders have pleats that lead into long sleeves. Covered buttons on sleeve cuffs. Back zip. Unlined.  Colbalt blue is a very hot color this season, and this dress is no exception.  A very wearable vintage polka dot dress.
