Naeem Khan is a favorite among celebrities, known for his heavily beaded and well cut gowns, which are all done by hand. This gives his dresses a pretty hefty price tag. Lucky for you Back In Style has a few his dresses in stock, at a much more friendly price point! Both the vintage and the modern pieces have sexy cuts, with the shoulders showing and a tight fit. All makes up a very classy look.
Naeem Khan has been worn by various celebrities including Beyonce, Carrie Underwood, Brooke Shield and the First Lady, Michelle Obama. Khan received his vast knowledge of the industry from his father and grandfather whom both worked in the textile industry in India, dressing the royal families of India. Since 2003, his dresses have been seen in over 100 high end retail stores. In 2008, Naeem Khan was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

Ever wonder where designers get their inspiration? From the past of course. Like this beautiful Alexander McQueen dress that Kate Hudson wore to the 2013 Golden Globes. It looks just like the vintage dress below that we have in our showroom. The beaded neck detail, and the gold ornaments at the waist (except on ours it is in the back), the train. The modern day version is a bit sexier with a more revealing neckline, but otherwise, the two dresses look almost identical! Thank goodness fashion designs aren’t copywrited, or Mr. McQueen might be in trouble!

In honor of Mother’s Day we thought we would highlight a dress that has been super hot among celebrity moms. This Rachel Pally dress has been worn by Sarah Jessica Parker, Angelina Jolie and Jenna Dewan-Tatum, and for good reason. It is both stylish, comfortable, and practical. It is easy and quick to just throw on for instant style, and you can throw it in the washing machine when you get spit up, or drool on it. If you wanted their celebrity style, but weren’t ready to plunk down $230 for a modal jersey dress, then you’re in luck. Now you don’t have to! Back In Style has two of them for you to chose from, priced at only $75!
A chocolate brown dress that is the same version as Sarah Jessica Parker wears above, with batwing sleeves, deep V neckline, empire waist, and below the knee length. And a versatile black dress that is the same version as Jenna Dewan-Tatum wears above, with long sleeves, deep V neckline, empire waist, and sweeping floor length. You chose whose celebrity style you want to mimic. Both dresses have a lot of style (and comfort), or a little price.
If you liked Jessica Chastain’s Roland Mouret dress at the BAFTA Awards, then you’ll want this Roland Mouret skirt from Back In Style. There is no need to wait for a black tie event to display the look, with this pencil skirt you can wear it to work, out for drinks with friends, or to a cocktail party. It’s a go anywhere skirt in a fabulous color, in a flattering style, and at a fantastic price . And right now it is half off!
Thandie Newton looked fresh and fab in a vintage 1980s beaded dress from The Gathering Goddess at the premier of Rogue, her new DirecTV drama series. If you loved Thandie Newton’s vintage 1980s look than you’re in luck! Back In Style has a very similar dress! This vintage 1980s beaded dress by Neiman Marcus has the same whimsical star pattern, and bold beading as Thandie Newton’s dress.
Julianna Margulies looked like old Hollywood glamour in a vintage black column gown at the 2013 Producers Guild Awards. In an era where more is not enough, and celebrities are piling on jewels, and accessories, with excessively embellished dresses, we commend Julianna Margulies for making a statement in this minimal chic look.
Here are a few vintage black gowns to make you look like a Hollywood bombshell:
Robert Danes Black Satin Dress with Woven Bust
Courreges Black Velvet Sequined Evening Dress
Chloe Black Silk Jersey Maxi Halter Dress
Oscar de la Renta Black Grecian Strapless Evening Dress
Rozae Nichols Black & Gray Jersey Dress with Sequins
Frieda Pinto certainly looked minimal chic in a vintage Valentino red strapless floor sweeping dress with ruffled hem at the Green Carpet Challenge. We at The Vintage Fashionistas thought the dress certainly was chic, but the look as a whole was a little too minimal for our taste. Frieda needed some jewelry, like statement earrings, or a bold necklace to add some pizzaz and sparkle to the red carpet look.
We do think it was very appropriate that Ms. Pinto chose vintage for The Green Carpet Challenge, which is an initiative by Livia Firth and British journalist Lucy Siegle which pairs glamour and ethics to increase the awareness of sustainable style at the world’s most high profile red carpet events.
Compare her look to our selection of Vintage Dresses which you can get for a fraction of the price. And if you love the designer you can also check out all of our Vintage Valentino

We did love the vintage Versace dress Penelope Cruz wore at the Venuto Al Mondo film premiere, we just didn’t like the way she wore it. First off, the shoes are the wrong height for the length of the dress. Penelope should have foregone the platform, and stuck with a modest heel so the dress gracefully and elegantly skimmed the ground, instead of looking like her vintage dress was a few inches too short. Secondly, her hair should have been tied up in a sophisticated and simple updo to match the sculptural pleats in the vintage Versace dress.
The vintage Versace dress itself is fabulous. We love the wide band across the top, the diagonal pleats down the entire length of the dress, and the sexy wrap style that opens towards them hem. But we don’t think Penelope wears it well. What do you think?
Kim Kardashian stepped out in her mother, Chris Jenner’s vintage Valentino dress. Here’s what her mother had to say about it:
“I bought this dress back in 1984, from the same collection as Julia Robert’s vintage Valentino gown, which she wore when she won her Oscar back 2001. I think it’s so important to save these classic gowns. They are timeless and I love to share them with my daughters! Kim borrowed it for her trip to the White House in 2012. She looked so stunning!” To see more pics, click here.
