Hermes Birkin Bag sells for $203,000 at Auction
DALLAS – Fashonistas, take note. If you want THE red bag this fall, don’t look in the stores. Look in the auction houses.
Dallas-based Heritage Auctions announced it sold an Hermes Diamond Birkin handbag for a whopping $203,150 in bidding that ended Tuesday.
Heritage spokesman Matthew Rubinger told the Associated Press that the winning bid went to a collector who wants to remain anonymous.
The bag is made of red crocodile and features an 18-karat white clasp, lock and keys encrusted with diamonds.
Fashion or Internet Fantasy?

For the second year in a row, Gucci — the Italian luxury brand known for its “kissing G’s” as well as its life-in-the-fast-lane image — is the most searched fashion brand online. That’s according to Microsoft’s Bing search engine, whose research, released today, is part of Bing.com’s annual search-trends list.
In fashion, Chanel fell to fifth position from number two last year – even dropping below the sporty Adidas-owned Y-3 brand.
Manolos are Back..
The ugly shoe is dead. Manolos are back in fashion

A Manolo Blahnik classic.
One of the best articles in the recent Sunday edition of the New York Times was a lively story on how Manolos (yes, shoes) have regained their status. The brand was created by Manolo Blahnik, a 68-year-old London cobbler born in the Canary Islands. He was an exclusive name among the jet-set, until “Sex and the City.” Sarah Jessica Parker, who starred as Carrie Bradshaw in the series, professed her love for Manolos. The show catapulted his shoes to cult-like status, even though they came with a hefty price tag, $300-$900.
Missoni for Target, a huge success!

Target Collaboration with Missoni..
http://cocoperez.com/page/6/
I think it’s safe to say Target wasn’t at all prepared for the launch of the Missoni collection on Tuesday.
Their site crashed less than 2 hours after becoming available, it remained down for a good portion of the day and when it did return everything was pretty much gone.
The retailer said the demand for items was bigger than Black Friday aka the biggest shopping holiday of the year. Adding:
“The excitement for this limited-time designer collection is unprecedented.”
What were they expecting?

These intricately-designed high heels might not be the most functional shoes in the world, but they are certainly eye-catching and fun. Would any of you fashion-forward neatonaut ladies wear these or do they look too hard to walk around in?

http://www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/2011/06/15/lady-gagas-current-obsession-vintage-versace/
In a recent interview Lady GaGa said that she will only be wearing Versace for the next two months.
She says she’s wanted to wear vintage Gianni Versace for quite some time, and has now become obsessed with wearing the late designers’ vintage pieces.
At the Europride Rome 2011 last week, she performed wearing a Versace vintage look which included a black top with a Swarovski crystal shoulder detail plus a maxi skirt.
This skirt is from the Atelier Versace Fall/Winter 1992 collection.

The Queen comes to HSN!
No, not THAT Queen. We’re talking about Queen Latifah!
The singer slash actress slash Cover Girl has announced her plans to launch her own brand,”The Queen”, on HSN starting in August.
Latifah said she wanted her first clothing line to be “something that really represented the women who I have represented through the years — uplifting, feeling good, feeling sexy, positive and servicing HSN’s audience.”
However, she was quick to add it’s not a “plus-size collection”. Rather, Queen took all shapes and sizes into consideration and designed apparel that will flatter all body types.
