Bette Midler Auctions Costumes & Gowns
The celebrity auction house, Julien’s Auctions of Beverly Hills has announced that Bette Midler has put up a large cache of costumes and gowns dating back from the 1970’s for auction.
Among the collection are Bob Mackie designs from the 1970’s, several vintage pieces from her live shows and the timeless Valentino ‘Mermaid’ gown the star wore to the 1992 Oscars.
Midler, who celebrates over 40 years in show business with over 30 million records sold is also the founder of the New York Restoration Project.
What started as a grass roots effort in 1995 to clean trash and plant trees in her neighborhood has evolved into a workforce of cooperation between the City of New York, other like-minded non-profits and private supporters. Its mission is to revitalize neighborhoods by renovating green space. Their aim is to make public spaces clean and safe to promote neighborhood growth.
